Samosa
The story
The samosa is a popular snack not just in Pakistan, but across the South Asian subcontinent, Middle East, and Africa. While the exact origins of this dish are disputed, it is widely believed that the samosa originated in the Middle East and Central Asia before the 10th cen tury. They were introduced to the Indian subcontinent in the 13th or 14th century by traders from Central Asia. In Pakistan, the samosa became a popular and affordable street food, often enjoyed with a cup of tea. Traditional Pakistani samosas are usu ally filled with spiced potatoes, onions, peas, lentils, and sometimes also include minced meat (lamb, beef, or chicken). They're typically served with a tangy tamarind chutney or spicy mint chutney.
