Pakora
The story
Pakora, also known as pakoda, bhaji, or fakkura, is a fried snack that originated from the Indian subcontinent. It's a popular street food in India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and of course, Pakistan. The name 'Pakora' comes from Sanskrit word 'Pakvavata' where 'Pakva' means 'cooked' and 'vata' means 'a small lump'. The traditional Pakora is made by dipping vegetables or meat into a batter made from gram flour and then deep-frying them. They're often enjoyed with a cup of hot tea, especially during the rainy season. Over time, numerous regional variations have devel oped, with different types of pakoras made using various ingredients, including potatoes, onions, eggplant, spinach, and paneer.
