Tribal People Try Music & Movies

Every time the tribe has tasted music & movies: 7 videos of first impressions from villagers in rural Punjab, Pakistan.

Also covers: music, song, songs, rap, hip hop, k-pop, kpop, bts, michael jackson, eminem, movie, movies

What it is

Music and film reactions: Hollywood trailers, K-pop, heavy metal, opera, Bollywood versus the West, old cartoons. Watched on a laptop in the courtyard with everyone talking over it.

What to watch for

Loud music gets turned down and then turned up again. Action films are followed closely; romance is watched through fingers. Anything with a horse in it earns respect.

The village comparison

Punjabi folk music, Sufi qawwali and old Lollywood films are the reference points, and the tribe are not shy about saying their own singers are better.
