Tribal People Try Fried Chicken

Fried chicken is chicken pieces in seasoned flour, deep-fried until the crust shatters. The American South made it a dish; KFC made it a global chain, and Korean fried chicken added a thin, extra-crisp coating and a sticky glaze.

Crunch is universal. Fried chicken is one of the few foods that wins on the first bite almost every time. The comments are about the coating — thick, salty, peppery — and about how much chicken there actually is under it.

Village chicken is a curry or a tandoori roast; frying it in batter is a shop treat, not home cooking. KFC has been in Pakistan since 1997, so the older men know the name even if they have never sat in one.

If you cook it: Brine or marinate in buttermilk or yogurt first, dredge twice, and keep the oil at 165–170 °C.
