Tribal People Try Animals & Nature

Animals and nature from other places: penguins, kangaroos, deep-sea fish, snow, volcanoes, the ocean itself — shown to people who have lived their whole lives inland in the Punjab plains.

The sea gets the longest silence; several of the tribe have never seen it. Animals are judged on whether they could be farmed or would be dangerous, and penguins are declared to be well-dressed ducks.

Buffalo, goats, chickens and the village dogs are the animals of daily life. Wildlife on a screen is a window, and the tribe look through it with real attention.
